Add codegen support for vector select (in the IR this means a select with a vector condition); such selects become VSELECT codegen nodes. This patch also removes VSETCC codegen nodes, unifying them with SETCC nodes (codegen was actually often using SETCC for vector SETCC already). This ensures that various DAG combiner optimizations kick in for vector comparisons. Passes dragonegg bootstrap with no testsuite regressions (nightly testsuite as well as "make check-all"). Update DebugInfo interface to use metadata, instead of special named llvm.dbg.... global variables, to encode debugging information in llvm IR. This is mostly a mechanical change that tests metadata support very well. llvm_unreachable->llvm_unreachable(0), LLVM_UNREACHABLE->llvm_unreachable. This adds location info for all llvm_unreachable calls (which is a macro now) in !NDEBUG builds. Change how extended types are represented in MVTs. Instead of fiddling bits, use a union of a SimpleValueType enum and a regular Type*. This increases the size of MVT on 64-bit hosts from 32 bits to 64 bits. In most cases, this doesn't add significant overhead. There are places in codegen that use arrays of MVTs, so these are now larger, but they're small in common cases. This eliminates restrictions on the size of integer types and vector types that can be represented in codegen. As the included testcase demonstrates, it's now possible to codegen very large add operations. There are still some complications with using very large types. PR2880 is still open so they can't be used as return values on normal targets, there are no libcalls defined for very large integers so operations like multiply and divide aren't supported. This also introduces a minimal tablgen Type library, capable of handling IntegerType and VectorType. Wrap MVT::ValueType in a struct to get type safety and better control the abstraction. Rename the type to MVT. To update out-of-tree patches, the main thing to do is to rename MVT::ValueType to MVT, and rewrite expressions like MVT::getSizeInBits(VT) in the form VT.getSizeInBits(). Use VT.getSimpleVT() to extract a MVT::SimpleValueType for use in switch statements (you will get an assert failure if VT is an extended value type - these shouldn't exist after type legalization). Generalize MVT::ValueType and associated functions to be able to represent extended vector types. Remove the special SDNode opcodes used for pre-legalize vector operations, and the special MVT::Vector type used with them. Adjust lowering and legalize to work with the normal SDNode kinds instead, and to use the normal MVT functions to work with vector types instead of using the two special operands that the pre-legalize nodes held. This allows pre-legalize and post-legalize DAGs, and the code that operates on them, to be more consistent. Pre-legalize vector operators can be handled more consistently with scalar operators. For PR1043: This is the final patch for this PR. It implements some minor cleanup in the use of IntegerType, to wit: 1. Type::getIntegerTypeMask -> IntegerType::getBitMask 2. Type::Int*Ty changed to IntegerType* from Type* 3. ConstantInt::getType() returns IntegerType* now, not Type* This also fixes PR1120. Teach LLVM how to scalarize packed types. Currently, this only works on packed types with an element count of 1, although more generic support is coming.
