1 2 Mesa 4.0.3 release notes 3 4 June 25, 2002 5 6 PLEASE READ!!!! 7 8 9 10Introduction 11------------ 12 13Mesa uses an even/odd version number scheme like the Linux kernel. 14Odd numbered versions (such as 3.3) designate new developmental releases. 15Even numbered versions (such as 3.4) designate stable releases. 16 17Mesa 4.0.3 basically just contains bug fixes version 4.0.2. 18 19See the docs/VERSIONS file for the list of bug fixes. 20 21The GGI driver has been updated, thanks to Filip Spacek. 22 23 24Device Drivers 25-------------- 26 27Mesa advertises itself as either OpenGL 1.2 or OpenGL 1.3 depending on the 28device driver. If the driver enables all the ARB extensions which are part 29of OpenGL 1.3 then glGetString(GL_VERSION) will return "1.3". Otherwise, 30it'll return "1.2". 31 32A number of Mesa's software drivers haven't been actively maintained for 33some time. We rely on volunteers to maintain many of the drivers. 34Here's the current status of all included drivers: 35 36Driver Status 37---------------------- --------------------- 38XMesa (Xlib) implements OpenGL 1.3 39OSMesa (off-screen) implements OpenGL 1.3 40FX (3dfx Voodoo1/2) implements OpenGL 1.3 41SVGA implements OpenGL 1.3 42Wind River UGL implements OpenGL 1.3 43Windows/Win32 implements OpenGL 1.3 44DOS/DJGPP implements OpenGL 1.3 (new in Mesa 4.0.2) 45GGI implements OpenGL 1.3 46BeOS needs updating 47Allegro needs updating 48D3D needs updating 49 50 51---------------------------------------------------------------------- 52
