Quick look-up for block in loop. This patch implements quick look-up for block in loop by maintaining a hash set for blocks. Move all of the header files which are involved in modelling the LLVM IR into their new header subdirectory: include/llvm/IR. This matches the directory structure of lib, and begins to correct a long standing point of file layout clutter in LLVM. There are still more header files to move here, but I wanted to handle them in separate commits to make tracking what files make sense at each layer easier. The only really questionable files here are the target intrinsic tablegen files. But that's a battle I'd rather not fight today. I've updated both CMake and Makefile build systems (I think, and my tests think, but I may have missed something). I've also re-sorted the includes throughout the project. Use the new script to sort the includes of every file under lib. Sooooo many of these had incorrect or strange main module includes. I have manually inspected all of these, and fixed the main module include to be the nearest plausible thing I could find. If you own or care about any of these source files, I encourage you to take some time and check that these edits were sensible. I can't have broken anything (I strictly added headers, and reordered them, never removed), but they may not be the headers you'd really like to identify as containing the API being implemented. Many forward declarations and missing includes were added to a header files to allow them to parse cleanly when included first. LCSSA: Try to recover compile time regressions due to SCEV updates. - Use value handle tricks to communicate use replacements instead of forgetLoop, this is a lot faster. - Move the "big hammer" out of the main loop so it's not called for every instruction. Fix SCEV cache invalidation in LCSSA and LoopSimplify. The LoopSimplify bug is pretty harmless because the loop goes from unanalyzable to analyzable but the LCSSA bug is very nasty. It only comes into play with a specific order of the LoopPassManager worklist and can cause actual miscompilations, when a SCEV refers to a value that has been replaced with PHI node. SCEVExpander may then insert code into the wrong place, either violating domination or randomly miscompiling stuff. Get rid of static constructors for pass registration. Instead, every pass exposes an initializeMyPassFunction(), which must be called in the pass's constructor. This function uses static dependency declarations to recursively initialize the pass's dependencies. Clients that only create passes through the createFooPass() APIs will require no changes. Clients that want to use the CommandLine options for passes will need to manually call the appropriate initialization functions in PassInitialization.h before parsing commandline arguments. I have tested this with all standard configurations of clang and llvm-gcc on Darwin. It is possible that there are problems with the static dependencies that will only be visible with non-standard options. Begin adding static dependence information to passes, which will allow us to perform initialization without static constructors AND without explicit initialization by the client. Remove LCSSA's bogus dependence on LoopSimplify and LoopSimplify's bogus dependence on DominanceFrontier. Instead, add an explicit DominanceFrontier pass in StandardPasses.h to ensure that it gets scheduled at the right time. Declare that loop unrolling preserves ScalarEvolution, and shuffle some getAnalysisUsages. Generalize LCSSA to handle loops with exits with predecessors outside the loop. This is needed because with indirectbr it may not be possible for LoopSimplify to guarantee that all loop exit predecessors are inside the loop. This fixes PR5437. Re-apply r80926, with fixes: keep the domtree informed of new blocks that get created during loop unswitching, and fix SplitBlockPredecessors' LCSSA updating code to create new PHIs instead of trying to just move existing ones. Also, optimize Loop::verifyLoop, since it gets called a lot. Use searches on a sorted list of blocks instead of calling the "contains" function, as is done in other places in the Loop class, since "contains" does a linear search. Simplify the logic of getting hold of a PHI predecessor block. There is now a direct way from value-use-iterator to incoming block in PHINode's API. This way we avoid the iterator->index->iterator trip, and especially the costly getOperandNo() invocation. Change create*Pass factory functions to return Pass* instead of LoopPass*. - Although less precise, this means they can be used in clients without RTTI (who would otherwise need to include LoopPass.h, which eventually includes things using dynamic_cast). Enable first-class aggregates support. Remove the GetResultInst instruction. It is still accepted in LLVM assembly and bitcode, where it is now auto-upgraded to ExtractValueInst. Also, remove support for return instructions with multiple values. These are auto-upgraded to use InsertValueInst instructions. Change class' public PassInfo variables to by initialized with the address of the PassInfo directly instead of calling getPassInfo. This eliminates a bunch of dynamic initializations of static data. Return Undef if the block has no dominator. This was required to allow llvm-gcc build to succeed. Without this change it fails in libstdc++ compilation. This causes no regressions in dejagnu tests. Replace the SSA update code in LCSSA with a bottom-up approach instead of a top down approach, inspired by discussions with Tanya. This approach is significantly faster, because it does not need dominator frontiers and it does not insert extraneous unused PHI nodes. For example, on 252.eon, in a release-asserts build, this speeds up LCSSA (which is the slowest pass in gccas) from 9.14s to 0.74s on my G5. This code is also slightly smaller and significantly simpler than the old code. Amusingly, in a normal Release build (which includes the "assert(L->isLCSSAForm());" assertion), asserting that the result of LCSSA is in LCSSA form is actually slower than the LCSSA transformation pass itself on 252.eon. Make LCSSA insert proper Phi nodes throughout the rest of the CFG by computing the iterated Dominance Frontier of the loop-closure Phi's. This is the second phase of the LCSSA pass.
