Bluetooth: cmtp: Fix deadlock in session deletion Commit fada4ac339 introduced the usage of kthread API. kthread_stop is a blocking function which returns only when the thread exits. In this case, the thread can't exit because it's waiting for the write lock, which is being held by cmtp_del_connection() which is waiting for the thread to exit -- deadlock. Revert cmtp_reset_ctr to its original behavior: non-blocking signalling for the session to terminate. Signed-off-by: Peter Hurley <peter@hurleysoftware.com> Signed-off-by: Gustavo F. Rafael J. Wysocki <rjw@sisk.pl> |
Freezer: make kernel threads nonfreezable by default Currently, the freezer treats all tasks as freezable, except for the kernel threads that explicitly set the PF_NOFREEZE flag for themselves. This approach is problematic, since it requires every kernel thread to either set PF_NOFREEZE explicitly, or call try_to_freeze(), even if it doesn't care for the freezing of tasks at all. It seems better to only require the kernel threads that want to or need to be frozen to use some freezer-related code and to remove any freezer-related code from the other (nonfreezable) kernel threads, which is done in this patch. The patch causes all kernel threads to be nonfreezable by default (ie. to have PF_NOFREEZE set by default) and introduces the set_freezable() function that should be called by the freezable kernel threads in order to unset PF_NOFREEZE. It also makes all of the currently freezable kernel threads call set_freezable(), so it shouldn't cause any (intentional) change of behaviour to appear. Additionally, it updates documentation to describe the freezing of tasks more accurately. [akpm@linux-foundation.org: build fixes] Signed-off-by: Rafael J. [NET]: Transform skb_queue_len() binary tests into skb_queue_empty() This is part of the grand scheme to eliminate the qlen member of skb_queue_head, and subsequently remove the 'list' member of sk_buff. Most users of skb_queue_len() want to know if the queue is empty or not, and that's trivially done with skb_queue_empty() which doesn't use the skb_queue_head->qlen member and instead uses the queue list emptyness as the test. Linux-2.6.12-rc2 Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
