fbdev/atyfb: Fix DSP config on some PowerMacs & PowerBooks Since the complete re-write in 2.6.10, some PowerMacs (At least PowerMac 5500 and PowerMac G3 Beige rev A) with ATI Mach64 chip have suffered from unstable columns in their framebuffer image. This seems to depend on a value (4) read from PLL_EXT_CNTL register, which leads to incorrect DSP config parameters to be written to the chip. This patch uses a value calculated by aty_init_pll_ct instead, as a starting point. There are questions as to whether this should be extended to other platforms or maybe made dependent on specific chip types, but in the meantime, this has been tested on various powermacs and works for them so let's commit it. [PATCH] video/aty/mach64_ct.c: fix bogus delay loop CT based mach64 cards were reported to hang on sparc64 boxes when compiled with gcc-4.1.x and later. Looking at this piece of code, it's no surprise. A critical delay was implemented as an empty for() loop, and gcc 4.0.x and previous did not optimize it away, so we did get a delay. But gcc-4.1.x and later can optimize it away, and we get crashes. Use a real udelay() to fix this. Fix verified on SunBlade100. Signed-off-by: David S. [PATCH] atyfb: Improve power management Some register were only set in aty_init() which is not called on resume. I added the aty_resume_chip() function to reset those registers on resume. Linux-2.6.12-rc2 Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
